History :

Aravinda Parimala Works, Mysore is a name to conjure within the realm of Incense Industry in the Country. The firm was started by its founder Late Sri H.N.IAH. Starting in a humble way as a Home Industry in the year 1963, Mr.H S Rao took over the reins of the Company from his father Late Sri H.N.IAH , in a small rented house, which is now part of old Mysore Agrahara.

Under his leadership Sri. H.S.Rao created “Sugandha Shringar” incense, the unit rose to its prominent position as a leading Exporter of Incense sticks from the Country and thus earning the much needed Foreign Exchange to the country at that time when foreign exchange was very valuable to the country’s growth. The unit has bought a continuous success in phenomenal growth in the Export market in a bold way in the Incense Industry.

Incense sticks from India was introduced & exported by Aravinda Parimala Works to more than 80 countries where it was just limited to a few countries where only Indians (Hindus) settled abroad who were using agarbathies for religious purpose. Aravinda Parimala Works is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of INCENSE STICKS in India. We have an international goodwill, and command high respect in both International and Indian market. Our Company has a well- established clientage, who are promoting our product. 

We are the only Agarbathi Company, which has won the National award for its outstanding exports consecutively for five years given by President of India. Under the leadership of Mr.H.S.Rao the firm has won the prestigious Trishul award for highest export of agarbathies from Ministry of Commerce, awards in India including National awards Govt. of Karnataka award, Gold medals, Export promotion councils award (Ministry of Commerce) and international awards to its credit The firm now is been successfully run by his son H S Rishi ,who is well trained in the field of perfumery & has the know how, expertise of creating world class perfumed incense sticks thus carrying forward the family ‘s third generation business.

Innovation :

Sugandha Shringar incense was introduced by Aravinda Parimala Works at a time where agarbathi was seen as a cheaper commodity and was having a limited identity towards some traditional fragrances especially like that of Sandal, Gulab, Jasmine only. But this product cut across all conventions and limitations and very soon became a universal selling premium brand making its own identity since it does not identifies with any particular fragrance.

It was accepted by many countries like the Americas, Europe Middle eastern countries used for various religious sentimental and for just sheer good aroma.

Packaging :

Aravinda Parimala Works was the first company to introduce agarbathi in Pouch packaging made from Garware Polyster India Ltd., who are the pioneers in making anti-glare films for cars, aluminum poly pouch packs for food industry etc. The vision was simple , save the cost of packing & benefit the consumer.

Thus after this was introducing the pouch packaging in the 80‘s it later became so innovative & it paved way for many manufacturers who started to make their products in the same fashion and now every other incense stick sold is in the pouch pack.

Responsibility :

Aravinda Parimala Works were instrumental in forming the City agarbathi manufacturers co-operative society Mysore which caters to many manufacturers in supplying raw materials and other products at a very reasonable rate benefiting the industry and thus providing employment to hundreds of women workers employed directly and indirectly.
